MeSH terminology provides a consistent way to retrieve information that may use different terminology for the same concepts. PubMed's MeSH is a thesaurus of controlled vocabulary terms that allow you to search the database more effectively. MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) controlled vocabulary thesaurus used for indexing articles in PubMed. You can go directly to the MeSH Database of controlled vocabulary, or you can add MeSH terms to your searches from within PubMed. MeSH terms are used to catalog and index the article records in PubMed.
